Cornerstone was founded by Ben Morehead, who saw the need for a home inspection company that combined construction know-how, real estate experience, and genuine care for people. Today, Ben works alongside his wife, mom, and dad, answering phones, performing inspections, and walking customers through their reports. Home inspections for buyers
The full walk of the home before you close: roof, structure, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and everything else in the standards of practice. Priced by the size of the home, with the number given up front rather than after the fact. Ask either office and you will have it the same day.
The report
The deliverable is a link, not a PDF, and it is built to be read on a phone while you are standing in the house. Photos sit next to the finding they belong to. Read a real one before you book, or see how the report is put together.
Screenings that go with an inspection
Air and moisture screenings ride along with the inspection instead of needing a second visit. Tell us what you are worried about and we will say what is worth doing and what it costs.
A second look after repairs
When the seller agrees to a repair list, we come back and verify each item with photos, before closing or within 60 days.

You ask us things afterward. The inspection is not the end of the relationship. Questions after the fact are normal and they are free, and a lot of them are already answered here.

Who owns Cornerstone Home Inspectors?
Ben Morehead founded the company in 2013 and still runs it. It is family owned and operated: Ben works alongside his wife, his mom and his dad, so the person who answers the phone is one of the people who does the work.
What area do you cover?
Two offices cover two regions. Dothan handles Southeast Alabama and Southwest Georgia. The 30A office handles the Florida Emerald Coast, from Santa Rosa Beach along Scenic 30A. Every town we serve has its own page.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, in both states. Our license is on file with the Alabama Building Commission and with Florida DBPR, and both links go straight to the state record rather than to a badge on our own site.
How fast do I get my report?
Within 24 hours of the inspection finishing. It comes by text and by email, and it is always a link you can open on a phone, never an attachment.
What does an inspection cost?
It depends on the size of the home. Ask either office and you will have a real number the same day, not a range that moves once we are standing in the driveway.
Can I come to the inspection?
Yes, and we would rather you did. The walkthrough at the end is where most of the value lands, because you get to stand in front of the thing being described instead of reading about it later.
What happens if you miss something?
Every inspection we perform carries InterNACHI’s $25,000 Honor Guarantee. We do not offer the InterNACHI Buy-Back Guarantee, and we would rather say so plainly than let the two get confused.

EXTREMELY DETAILED! First off I messaged them on a Saturday honestly not expecting a reply back until Monday but Mrs.Judy responded within the hour and had me an appointment booked for that Tuesday. And speaking of her she was literally so sweet. With me being a first time home buyer I kept second guessing things and asking questions on the process, but she never made me feel like I was being a nuisance. Her and her husband answered all my questions on the spot. They inspected the house that morning and had a 80 page detailed report sent to me that evening. You honestly cannot go wrong with these people, and they are super affordable .Trust me THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU.
